You might have spotted my new Saltwater sandals in yesterday’s outfit post but I got so carried away extolling the virtues of the mighty midi dress and waffling on about flashing people in Homebase that I completely forgot to mention what was on my feet. Another spin on that of course would be to say that they are such fine sandals that they deserve a blog post all of their own. So we’ll go with that.
I have a pair of bright yellow Saltwaters that I bought years ago and they make me smile every time I wear them I absolutely love them! But sometimes life calls for me to not dress like a toddler so I treated myself to this new tan pair in the sale from Toast.
I know they still seem quite expensive even in the sale but honestly, they really are worth every penny. The yellow ones that I have still look as perfect as the day I bought them and that is after how ever many miles of wear and dips in the sea. At first I was scared of ruining them by paddling in them but they really are made for just that as their name suggests! Promise! I have seen a couple of copycat versions on the high street this summer that are less expensive but I bet they are not paddle proof like these babies. Nope, only real Saltwaters will do for me thanks.
First and foremost of course I love the style of these shoes. Proper old school sandals. Even more so in tan. But they are terribly practical too. One of the few types of sandals that I have never had to ‘wear in’ they are ridiculously comfy from the get go. They are made from leather and really do fit like a glove feeling like old favourites from the minute you fasten them up. Love them. I would have them in every single colour if I could. I’m thinking a metallic pair might be on the cards next….
